Statistics and Decision Support

Statistics and decision support consultancy

Southern Clarity NZ

Southern Clarity NZ is a New Zealand-based statistical modelling and decision-support consultancy helping organisations turn complex environmental and operational data into evidence for confident decisions.

What we do

We deliver end-to-end analytical solutions combining rigorous statistical modelling, reproducible workflows, and interactive decision-support tools. Our systems evolve as new data becomes available and new management questions emerge.

Statistical modelling

Build robust inferential and predictive models to understand environmental systems, quantify uncertainty, and support evidence-based management decisions.

Decision-support tools

Design interactive dashboards and scenario tools that help teams explore data, compare management options, and act faster.

Reproducible analytics

Implement transparent, auditable workflows that update as new data and management questions emerge.

Tools & methods commonly used: R · QGIS · GitHub · Docker · Bayesian and spatial modelling · Reproducible pipelines · Interactive dashboards · AI-assisted workflows

Client ownership

You retain full ownership of your data, code, and tools.

Transparent methods

Approaches are documented, reproducible, and easy to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.

Who we are

Southern Clarity NZ was co-founded by Stefan Meyer and Anthony Davidson in 2025. The company helps organisations turn complex data into clear evidence for decision-making through rigorous statistical modelling and practical analytical tools.

Stefan Meyer brings more than nine years of consulting and project delivery experience across government, research, and industry. His work focuses on Bayesian modelling, advanced statistical analysis, and the development of reproducible analytical systems for complex monitoring and spatial data. He holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Otago, where his research focused on statistical methods for analysing complex natural systems.

Anthony Davidson combines a background in ecology with strong quantitative and technical expertise. He holds a Master’s degree in Ecology from the University of Otago and is also a registered mathematics teacher. At Southern Clarity NZ, Anthony focuses on analytical tool development, data systems, and AI-assisted workflows.

Together, Stefan and Anthony build analytical systems that are transparent, reproducible, and designed for long-term use by the organisations that rely on them.
